About me? I write mysteries, and this website is mostly devoted to my books. I write the kind of mysteries I like to read: plots that appeal to the mind. I come to mysteries from Agatha Christie, PD James, Ross McDonald, Ruth Rendell, and other writers of traditional detective fiction.

Tai Chi
I’m a long-time student and author of TaiChiNotebook.com. I’ve also made a number of videos, mainly to amuse myself during those isolated years of the pandemic.
Gardening
I love my garden. I’ve lived in the same house for more than forty years now, and the heart of my home is in the fenced half-acre behind it. The past year has been dominated by a a huge project: we chopped down and rooted out a large, over-aged stand of bamboo and planted a huge vegetable garden! I can almost literally say that I have not bought a vegetable in the grocery store in the last year!

Only one at a time (we are monodogamous), but always one, always one of these little white ones. This is Oslo.
